We used to carry a pack of cards but only used them occasionally.
These days its the ipads, but what games entertain you on the road, especially in the rain?

Crosswords, Cryptic especially.
Sudoku.
I like the puzzle where you fill in letters having been given 2 or 3.

Sequence, Upwords, Yahtzee.
Also we each have our laptop, I like role playing adventure games and hidden object games.
The "boss" likes hidden object games and puzzles, plus many, many crosswords. (i.e. on paper not verbal>)

Wizard 101 - on line game - simpler and cheaper version of Warcraft and very family friendly. Play with my grandkids and a nephew in NZ. Been playing for 3 years now and still not bored with it:) Not so easy when free camping - have to run the gen for power - or just have shorter games. Solsuite - about 400 card games. Read - Kindle and thousands of books to get through. Bought a Ukelele - need to practice that!

Scrabble - if I can twist his arm to play, UNO sometimes, but usually our individual crossword books and my sudoku. Hubby prefers to read do a puzzle while I stitch or quilt. The old eyes might soon dictate what we do.

Was it an old version or the new version? Read recently that 4 of the 8 things you move around the board have been changed. Too old fashioned or reminded of the old working days apparently!

Laptop when the missus isnt in the mood, cheap find the object games, cheap ball games.
Otherwise, when I can find a player, cribbage, Missus cannot understand it!
Canasta, Scrabble, Upwords, UNO, Yahtzee, Rummy Royale when we can find two other players who like a drink and are prepared to loose a couple of dollars.
Backgammon if I can find a player!

I have a Casino game that allows you to play for fun or play for real. I too have a lot of funny money in the bank. I'll bet the odds change dramatically when you give them a credit card number

Cribbage is what I love, I comes from years of playing against Mum, sadly she is nolonger with us.
So now its cribbage on the tablet computer, along wit Gin Rummy, Hearts and Spider.
I am not an avid reader, however the last book I read was The Devils Guard it was about a group of SS soldiers at the end of WW2 who became legionnaires and went to Vietnam to fight against the Viet Minh.

We play "Trionimos" daily - triangular domino-like tiles. Up to 4 players, adult and kid suitable. We do have other board games and cards on board, but Trionimos can be played with brain in neutral - best strategy is to have none.
