It is a Multi-Function satellite finder . Colour LCD Monitor . 3.5 inch screen .
Distributed by Forld Electronics Co. , Fujian China .
We got it because someone on this forum recommended it . I can't find the original post on here , so
can't contact the person that posted about it .
The part we are having the problem with is . . . . DC8.5V , 1500mA power adaptor .
Double dutch to me I'm afraid .

Sounds like you have a china plug, they should have sent a Aussie one, found a pic on eBay, heres the rear of the unit, if you do not have a plug for aussie connection, I suggest you contact seller and tell them you want one, or maybe go to tricky dickie or Jarcar and buy an adaptor.
make sure you take the charging adaptor with you to jarcar (best shop for elec stuff) should have come with an aussie one, mine did.
once you have your unit charged you will need to setup the dish to C1 sat and then plug in the sat finder so that it can be configured to aussie C1 sat, read the book it is hard to understand being china type print, I cheated, asked my son to do it and it was done in 10 mins, I hate smart sons.
Does anyone have one?. The adaptor has 2 round curved pins. How do we plug into power to recharge?

frank
you will need to find a round curved pin female plug connected to power grid.

sorry I could not resist that one, we really need more info as KFT suggested
is this the one you are talking about?
if yes, can you take a pic of the plug you are having problems with and post here
