Yup that is our big wide country all the time. We live in the best country in the world, and need to count our blessings. Our wonderful it is to know that we can travel this land in safety, seeing the most magnificent scenery, have the freedom to stop where want or to move on if not happy with that particular place. Then in time of disaster that unique Aussie spirit comes to the forefront and there are wonderful people there to help out and assist in whatever capacity they can. We are truly blessed to be either born here or to have chosen to come here to live. We need to appreciate it more I think. Some have a lot, some have not so much, however wherever we are on the scale the majority of us are able lead a wonderful life. For this I am grateful. Our land has always been one of flood, fire, and coming up against nature in varying ways, and yet beauty returns quickly and its people stand up, and move forward with grace and beauty also. I am grateful. Thank you Rocky for showing us the variences of our land.

Fireheart. Spot on. A very deep and meaningful piece. It was a good read. Wouldn't like the snow and ice overseas. Next century there might be worldwide peace and plenty of food for all.

You've only got to read the news of the world on any day to realize how lucky we are to be Aussies. It ain't perfect but it's way ahead of whatever comes second.
