I know when you move Doctors your medical history is transferred to your respective doctor, so how does one handle this whilst travelling around and when you also need to fill up on prescriptions.. Your advice will be helpful ..we are in the planning stage at this time. Tks in advance

Keep in mind, that with Regulation 26, you can get 6 months supply of medications at a time. Check with your doctor. Also, do a search for Regulation 26, and read Cruising Grannys' post.

The easiest thing is to get all your medical history and down load it to a usb stick. Find someone who can scan all the medical files to pdf and save them. Present it anywhere when you need medical help and get them updated whenever you can. Always ask for hard copy documents and copies of files, they are yours and not the doctors.
This way, you can take them with you wherever you go. Always remember to back up the usb stick whenever you update it. You can actually get one with a medical alert emblem on it.

Welcome dibbers. Enjoy the forum. There is talk of a national medical record being set up (can't remember the exact name). This may be the solution for all nomads.
Which should cover any health records concerns other than letting the govenment know all your issues etc.

Thanks for the website Mike ... but I am not sure ehealth will help those of us who live full-time on the road but I will keep an eye on its development.
I have six-monthly blood tests for conditions I suffer and have scripts for those condtions. When I hit the road, I simply asked my (then) GP for a "Health Summary" which shows the conditions I have been diagnosed with and the medications I am on.
When I attend a GP I have never been to before, they simply look at the Health Summary and they usually photocopy/scan it into their records. If there needs to be a change in my scripts they note that and print out a new, amended Health Summary.
I have not met any difficulty having each GP over this time provide me with a printout of all my tests which I keep in the van with me (in a nice tin box for safety). Similiarly, I have never encountered a problem with a doctor providing a script or a pharmacy providing the medication.
I must admit ehealth sounds like a great idea, but at the moment I am not sure it would make it any easier for me.
