We had fettucine with a quick sauce made from onion, garlic, capsicum, coriander, lemon grass, ginger, couple of handfuls of green prawns and dolup of sour cream.
Quick mix, bit of parmesan and a squeeze of lemon.
All done in the time it took the pasta to cook.
What hit the table at your place?

Well after all the catering for family over the past week it was frozen lasagne (home cooked previously) with a nice salad followed by leftover Christmas pudding and custard. Last night the neighbour gave us a lovely meal - chicken tenderloins cooked in frying pan then removed and juices from chicken cooked with sweet chilli sauce and some UHT cream and teaspoon of sugar to make a sauce which was then poured over the chicken and served with jacket potato, lovely salad dressed with lemon myrtle dressing. That was as yummy as your tea sounds Rosie.

My daughter cooked last night. We had salmon baked in the oven with a fabulous sauce made out of who knows what accompanied by cous cous and stir fried veggies. We're both trying to recover from Christmas and New Year's excesses.

Last night we had a nice piece of silverside cooked as a roast in the Cobb Cooker by John (Yeoeleven) - as a trial run - spuds, carrots, onions and peas - yumbo!!!
Tonight - hmmmm bacon and eggs maybe???

Love bacon and eggs (plus tomatoes, mushrooms and baked beans) for a night meal! Who says it has to be for breakfast? You get all your protein and fibre and vegies in one go.

Love bacon! I sometimes get the budget bacon from the butcher - $5/kg and its like a feast with everything bacon happening till its gone.
p.s yesterdays dinner was roast pork belly (done on a bed of onions and apples) baked potatoes and pumkin, with peas, beans and gravy.

Fresh blackfish from the local co-op, with jacket spuds and salads, fresh mango. Like everybody, we are recovering from the excesses of Christmas.

Isn't it good to be back on our regular food?

I look forward to the christmas feast, but then the leftovers last forever.
If you asked me, I'd say I was a meat and 3 veges girl, but if I kept a food diary its probably more like seafood, pasta and rice - with 3 veges or salads

After a stinking hot day yesterday, panfried atlantic salmon on a bed of mashed sweet potato with steamed mixed vegies. Simple when there's not much energy to cook.

Last evening it was "leftover" fried rice using the leftover rice in the fridge, plus one mushroom, small onion, the last egg, the last bacon rasher, few frozen prawns from the freezer, capsicum, carrot and some zuchini.
Bit of ginger and lemon grass.
Bit of lemon juice, slosh of soy.
Got to love the wok!
Crack the egg in first and scramble it- the remove, chop and return befor serving.
Add the rice after the rest of the ingredients have cooked and warm it through.

Knowing how to cook on the road (ie making the most of what you have in the fridge and cupboard) sure helps to cook at home. Unlike our children's generation, I do not throw out food but work through the fridge and pantry making the best I can and it often sounds like your wok combination, Rosie. And I bet it tasted yummy!!!
