A new year has begun and I am looking back briefly on the past 2 years of my new life.
2011 began with a plan to travel round Australia leaving the caravan park where I was staying in an onsite van and buying a vehicle to achieve that aim. I was able to buy the Hi Ace in January get it fitted out for travel and set off early August. By the year end I was staying in an organic farm in Denmark WA with Woofrs (Willing Workers On Organic Farms).
2012 started there and by July I had completed my plan to travel round Australia. I returned to the Gold Coast to settle some outstanding items and set off again this time up as far as Paronella Park just outside of Innisfail then down to Tasmania where I am currently in a free camp at Lagoons Beach on the east coast. All this has been documented in this forum and maps of the travelling are posted.
2013 is starting at Lagoons Beach but where it will end who knows. The broad plan is to travel north for winter and summer in the south. The most exciting happening will be in March when I can pick up the Coaster, get it roadworthied, registered and ready for travel. That may take a while if the cost of the roadworthy blows my budget but ultimately I will be on the road heading north.
As of now I will be moving on tomorrow and resuming these travelling posts, the first destination is Freycinet National Park where I am anxious to see Wineglass Bay and stop over at the River and Rocks Campground.

Marj the map is from Google, if you have a gmail address then log in and across the top is a link to MAPS. Click on it and follow the prompts to create a new map then use the box at the top to type in a location. Save it to the map and you have started to track your stopovers.

Is there any other way of doing the map without having a gmail account Jules?

I don't know Marj - it is easy enough to set up an account on gmail - and the maps is the only thing I use it for - try just going on google and see.

I just loved John's map soI set up a google account using my hotmail, no problem at all
I'm heading off at the end of the month and thought it would be a great way of keeping track of my travells, I'm not finding it easy creating my own map though..... perseverance maybe the key lol

I did exactly that last night Jillybeans, didn't need Gmail. It is quite hard getting it going though. The map doesn't have all the towns marked so guessing a bit to get the right location. Then having to change them a few times. Perserverance will get me there.

No they are not stickers they were painted on, they used to look more vibrant but now are faded.
I haven't had them touched up because I think that they look more travelled and in keeping with the van's experience.
