It's very quiet on here at the moment. Is everybody still recovering from Christmas excesses? Perhaps I'll break the drought by saying that I'm currently in Canberra gearing up for Nana duty during January. I look after 1 or perhaps 2 grandkids while their mum runs a school holiday program. But it's only 2 or 3 days a week so leaves me lots of time to go to movies and otherwise catch up with friends. Anyone else in Canberra that would like to meet up for coffee or something?

Ah, grandparent duties! While the life of a grey nomad is freedom at its best, the gossamer threads of family - and especially grandchildren - do snare us from time to time. And its great. Scheduled visits from children & grandchildren will tie me here until end-Feb, when once again I plan to leave and go around Australia; the first attempt was delayed by the arrival of a new grandson but did afford the opportunity to travel extensively in the Northern Territory. Lifes good and I hope everyone has a great Holiday Season (what is left of it).
Enjoy the family time, Nomadic1, also the delights of the big city.

Thanks Anton and Doug. I'm not complaining - I figure that January is a good month to be parked up at my daughter's place. It's a great opportunity for me to get to know my grandkids better too.
I hope you both have wonderful travels in 2013. I'm planning to go north(ish). Straight lines really aren't my forte so I could wind up anywhere.

I am still at Werribee parked behind a farm house - keeping off the roads mainly:) Dont really want to deal with holiday traffic. Also wanting to get the 100,000km service done before I take off again - so waiting for garages to open as well. Great company - nu one & and his grandson's family have made me very welcome. Have been introduced to port sipped through Timtams! WOW. yum. Many years since I have been invited to a New Year party. Spent a few days and Xmas with daughter in Melbourne so really appreciated having somewhere to leave the van while there. No great plans yet - but Perth around June. Once again waiting for family to let me know their plans. Back to Bendigo to meet friends again. Maybe Kangaroo Island - just visit with ute maybe..... friends camped there also. Have a great New Year everyone.

This is Marj typing on Jimbos laptop. Jimbo arrived yesterday. Going home Tuesday. I'm only using my mobile to read but can't write so have just been reading every day. Going back into Echuca Tuesday but will come back out about a week after that. Only 4 of us here, Us two and Esperian and a new lady Angie62 who has just signed up.
