J.C. what type of insulation did you use? (I get itchy thinking about fibre glass). I checked my fridge installation, there is about 25mm gap on one side, about 50mm on the other & at least 100mm at the top, with no insulation at all. The deflector bafflle is only the width of the vent opening, which leaves about 50mm gap on one side & 100mm on the other. Overall I would say a very poor installation, so heaps of room for improvement.

I an understand your reluctance as I am the same.
I use different type of batteries and stay away from battery topics.
I have been attacked on most of the main Rv forums as they said what we wanted to do was not possible but then we are doing it so we are happy.
I think it is the same people as they get their thrills trying to bring people down.

Hi
The criteria for efficient operation of any fridge
Best possible insulation[to keep the heat out]
Efficient cooling of the condenser[ to ensure hot refrigerent does not enter the evaprator,] MAY mean forced air cooling
Follow those rules with any fridge & you may be surprised@ the results both performance &energy consumption wise
YES ,Pete A very poor inslallation ,but sadly typical of MOST
Does not comply with the fridge maker's specified requirements
Apparently van makers do not believe it matters
