Camps6 NSW site 535. From Mathoura, take Jones Road onto Picnic Point Road for approx 5km to Millewa Road (just past the Reed Bed Bird Hide sign), then turn left for approx 2.5km along a very good dirt road to the Picnic Area and Campground. Drive past the day-use area along the well formed dirt road. There are two cleared camp areas on the right and another on the left. Continue to the right, past the toilets and the road ends at the final campground. All four camping areas are about the same size.
Edward River Bridge Campground is free and suitable for caravans, motorhomes and tents. Dogs are allowed as it is just outside the National Park. Long drop toilets, no potable water.
Take an energising walk along the Edward River or relax with a book under the shade of a river red gum. There are plenty of great spots to cast your line or put the kayak in and paddle.
The Rangers advised the campground is very popular in school holidays and Easter, but at other times it is very quiet and tranquil. It was just that as I was the only person in the area for my stay.
Mathoura is only a few Km away if you need to pick up some supplies.
Hi John We are new to caravanning but have bush tent camped for many years . I have been following your trip and it sounds fantastic and the best thing is we dont have to plan where to stay ( just follow your guide . We will be leaving Brisbane early new year but we will have a granddaughter with us so my question is are any of these places you stop at suitable for swimming Keep up with the pics as they are great Enjoy your travels Cheers

Many of the places I have reported on where it is beside a river, creek, lake are usually 'available for swimming'. However, it would depend on how well you swim - especially regarding your granddaughter.
Personally, I rarely swim in a creek/river/lake if I can't see the bottom. I am not a good swimmer and even if I see others swimming/wading I am reluctant to get in. Add to that that I travel alone and usually am camping alone, I am just a big sook
