Hi, I came across this subtject a few times before. As an out door worker I was exposed to the sun many hours every day and sofar I have been lucky that I don't have any damaged skin. I had one spot on my nose which I think is gone with the treadment of Hemp Oil. It is funny (maybe not )
that people get a melanoma on places of the body were the sun don't shine. Here is one explanation why it is so,
There are two major factors that help explain this, and the first has to do with the type of UV exposure.
There are two primary types of UV rays from sunlight, the vitamin-D-producing UVB rays and the skin-damaging UVA light. Both UVA and UVB can cause tanning and burning, although UVB does so far more rapidly. UVA, however, penetrates your skin more deeply than UVB, and may be a much more important factor in photoaging, wrinkles and skin cancers.
A study in Medical Hypotheses suggested that indoor workers may have increased rates of melanoma because theyre exposed to sunlight through windows, and only UVA light, unlike UVB, can pass through window glass. At the same time, these indoor workers are missing out on exposure to the beneficial UVB rays, and have lower levels of vitamin D.
Researchers wrote: We hypothesize that one factor involves indoor exposures to UVA (321400nm) passing through windows, which can cause mutations and can break down vitamin D3 formed after outdoor UVB (290320nm) exposure, and the other factor involves low levels of cutaneous vitamin D3.
After vitamin D3 forms, melanoma cells can convert it to the hormone, 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3, or calcitriol, which causes growth inhibition and apoptotic cell death in vitro and in vivo.
We agree that intense, intermittent outdoor UV overexposures and sunburns initiate CMM [cutaneous malignant melanoma]; we now propose that increased UVA exposures and inadequately maintained cutaneous levels of vitamin D3 promotes CMM.
To put it simply, UVB appears to be protective against melanoma or rather, the vitamin D your body produces in response to UVB radiation is protective.
As written in The Lancet: Paradoxically, outdoor workers have a decreased risk of melanoma compared with indoor workers, suggesting that chronic sunlight exposure can have a protective effect.

People should get them self informed about hemp and why it is banned in the western world, it is an eye opener.

Very interesting article on Melanoma. Check out on the internet what the research has to say about Hemp Seed Oil. It appears that Hemp seed oil (e.g. 1 tspsp or 15 ml) has approx 8 g of Omega-6 and 2.5 g of Omega-3. Both are Polyunsaturated but the ratio of one to the other is not ideal. The Omega-3 daily dose should be higher than the Omega-6 dose. You should ensure you obtain more Omega-3 in your diet if not through a good Fish or Krill oil.

Further on the subject of Hemp Seed Oil and it's ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3. As I mentioned it has a much higher ratio of 6 to 3 and through the research of the Center for Genetics, Nutrition and Health, Washington. DC. They have discovered the importance of the ratio of Omega-3 being higher than that of Omega-6. A higher ratio of Omega-6 (e.g. Hemp seed oil) is common in Western diets and promotes the pathogenesis of many diseases including cardiovascular, cancer, inflammatory diseases and autoimmune disorders. Omega-3 exerts suppressive effects on these diseases.
Just mentioned that as the Hemp Seed Oil although good can through the balance of 6 and 3 Omega fats out to the point that in the long term can cause health issues. It is always good to include Omega-3 foods in the diet if taking Hemp seed oil, or use a good quality fish or krill oil to supplement your intake.

The Doctors Show on Channel 10 every afternoon did a show last week on the benefits of hemp. Really surprised me.. I know nothing about it but a few years ago my sister bought some cream at a market in Geelong. I know it was so good she got in contact with them for some more. For a skin condition if I recall rightly.

The Body Shop sells "Hemp butter" which is extremely good for dry cracked skin, especially on heels. I recommended it once to and old lady and her reaction was very disaproving to say the least. Her loss, its good stuff.... only problem is its not cheap.

I had a life of Indoor work in Banking and Finance, Have had 2 melanoma's and many many cancers removed from my Body
The reason 12 Months in Vietnam with explosure to Agent Orange, maybe a Life of surfing up and down the NSW Coast Line, I have gotten use to Doctors cutting me up the Last was recently when I had 2 removed from my face very very close to my Eye, Thanks to the Plastic Surgeon and staff at John Flynn Hosipital on the Gold coast I am on the road to recovery and soon on the Road to the Central Coast for Christmas
No hats, just Cocanut Oil, no wet suits in my surfing days, they where only for Girls haha
