Primitive Campground. CAW 6 #899. You can either park near the toilets and showers at the entrance or down by the Barwon River.
There's a dump point, and ignore the 48 hour stay, council is happy for visitors to stay as long as they like, but it would be nice if the visitors spent money in the town, which is across the river.
We are enjoying our camp by the river. Apparently there is carp, don't know about anything else.

Thats good to know Beth. My Camps 5 book says its a day stop only. I will re-mark it as an overnighter.

I used the shower this arvo and the amenities block doesn't look that old. Beautiful hot water, all nice and clean.
Today we've been watching the fish jumping, the water birds diving, and many other birds just twittering around. A goanna passed by, and Lee says there's a possum up the big gum tree near us.
We can see the flood levels on the trees. Where we came through yesterday and here is channel country so it's pretty low lying with lots of little watercourses, rivers and billabongs. And it's the Barwon River we're camped on not the Mehi as previously stated.
Ah nature! Don't ya just love it!

We took a drive into 'town' this morning. Very small place, but had the usual butcher, friendly supermarket etc. We had devonshire tea at a gift shop. Beautiful scones. It's run by a British couple who came here from Victoria. They were up for a good long chat.
Lee & Deb bought a roast and Lee is going to cook it in the camp oven for dinner. Yum!
We've rested up nicely, so tomorrow we're moving on to 4 Mile Campground CAW6 #400, outside Brewarrina, which is only about 200 kms to the west.

The town sounds about the same size as Biggy here Beth. Right down to the cafe in the gift shop. Now put your feet up for the rest of the day and enjoy. Have a good trip tomorrow as well.

Yes, we stayed there a few weeks ago for a couple of nights, it is very tidy and good parking bays. We shopped in the town and found the locals to be very freindly too. It appears that the town received a grant to do the area up hence the new bays , toilet block etc.
