As you will all know we have had trouble with our 4WD, and after near on three weeks, should get it back laate this afternoon or tomorrow morning. As soon as this happened, I said we weren't meant to go - now I know why.
Then of course our solar hot water service - should say the tank - decided to leak (whole system is twenty years old), complete new system installed tomorrow morning.
To top it all off, late yesterday afternoon got a phone call from the Home where my mother is, to say that she had markedly deteriorated, was not eating, and could no longer walk (we were down to visit her a fortnight ago - go each fortnight) ran round organising a hire car through RACQ (they were wonderful) and raced down to the home - not good. She is now in what they call the ICU room (at the home) and the next stage will be palliative care for her. So looks like she may be heading off soon to be with my Dad. I just hope and pray that she isn't lingering for too long, this sort of 'thing' (can't think of another word at the moment) - it just isn't human, and there is no dignity!!!! No human being should go through this.
So, yeah ...... planned trips on hold, and we shall 'go with the flow' for the time being, and pick up the threads of our life a little down the track.

Hi, Darn. Sounds like the universe wants you to turn your attention elsewhere for now. Prayers for everyone coming your way.

You are probably right to put your trip off - it will all come together when it is meant to. You would feel pretty bad if you were'nt around for your mother - and I agree it isn't humane to linger especially if the person is in pain.
So go with the flow, as they say - and hope to see you on the track somewhere in the future.

Sorry to hear of your woes Pejay.
I believe that John Lennon summed things up so well when he wrote: "Life, is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".
Hopefully your mum doesn't linger too long and can peacefully join your dad soon.
Take care. Thinking of you. Pam.

I feel for you June, its hard. And having a difficult history doesnt make it any easier from my experience. As you say, go along with the flow for the time being, and remember.... "This, too, will pass". Keep us posted when you can.
At least you were still home when your Mum started "doing her thing" you might have felt even worse if you'd had to return from your trip.

Sorry to hear of all your problems Pejay. It is so hard when you have to stand by and watch the ones you love suffer. I hope your Mum has a peaceful passing very soon. My thoughts are with you.

.. my thoughts are with you Peter .. My dear Mother passed last year and although it was difficult at the time, it got easier as time passed and I simply dwelt on the memories of good times and how lucky I was to have been chosen as a son ..

Yay!!! A little good news!
First up this morning, the new solar hot water system was installed.
Late this afternoon - we picked up our beloved 'Beast' - Oh it's good to have it back again.
Mum ....... well, I guess you could say that all things considered, she is holding her own, and Mum being Mum, she will do things 'her way'! Will be back down at the Home tomorrow again.
But both of us would like to thank all of you for your kind thoughts, it's not real great when one 'section' of the family decides to fire a couple of missiles at you, when all you are trying to do is convey important info to them - guess that's life for some, eh?
Hey Travel Bug, nearly fell out of bed last night, I had read your contribution above with the wonderful quote, when I was reading the book I was ingrossed in, and blow me down there was the exact same quote! So thank you, must have been a message for me.

Pejay...pleased to hear your good news.
As for the quote...glad you like it. It's one of my favourites 'cos it sums up life so perfectly.
Try not to let the troublesome rellies get you down.
