Hi Milo,
my dad is 88 and they wouldn't even do a colonoscopy on him as he has a few medical issues, and they didnt
think he would be able to cope with the procedure.
but its like you said, at least we have them around for another couple of years to keep enjoying one anothers' company.

I feel for you Milo, we have been through similar problems. My Mum needed a hip replacement in her mid 80's and despite some misgivings all went well.
Last week, at aged 91, she was in hospital having major sugery, and they removed 2.5 meters of bowel. It's ok coz there is 5 meters to play with. She is recovering quite well
and only has a few very minor complications that they are doing their best to control. All being well we will have her around for a while longer, which will be great.
wont know for sure till after thursday but as some stage either this week or the next
couple weeks dad may be in hospital having a knee replacement op,
going to be a big thing if he can end up walking properly again ..
such a hard thing for him at the moment so lets hope this works out....
he'll be 89 next month
