I NEVER take my dogs to off lead areas just because of the behaviour of other dogs. No dog can be controlled in an attack situation if they are off lead.
So sad.

Can't say this is gospel but I believe that Moana Beach is a leash area. Even more sad!

Phew as you know , howie and I love our dogs, they are put on lease at all times, too risky, yes they are small dogs, but do not have small person syndrome, I just about fell off my chair , never heard of it, all animals are fiesty when provoked, challenged and dont like their territory or owner being invaded. Dogs that are trained correctly , well loved and attended to will respond very well. Unfortunately there are certain breeds that are nerendathal, pitt bull breeds, and large dogs, and small dogs that are abused , as a consequence their behaviour can be dodgy. One just as to be alert and careful. Peace out.

That is so sad...terrifying in fact. It would be so horrible to see your dog torn apart by another animal. My little maltese/terrier was swooped by an eagle on Delegate beach near Crescent Head when I was walking along the beach. Fortunately at the time someone saw the eagle coming down with my small dog as his/her target and screamed and raised his hands like a helicopter to scare the eagle away. The dam eagle followed us all the way back along the beach and never took his eyes of my dog? dusty+dog
