Was on my way from Rollingstone by 7.30am but had time to farewell my new friends, Wayne and Jan who is Ian's sister whom I met last week there. Needed plenty of time even though the ferry was setting off at 9.30am because of the rush hour traffic hitting Townsville after 8.00am, had forgotten about heavy traffic and was not used to crawling along. Not to worry I parked in the middle of town to find the Post Office to find that I was almost on the doorstep in Stuart Street. Collected the book on pressure cooking that Sheba had sent to me. Thanks Sheba. Then to find the Sea Link depot and I remembered Bill's words turn left at the end of the Strand so got there with 20 minutes to spare. The pensioner price of $16 return as good even though it cost $7 for a 24 hour car park at the terminal. Can't compare this ferry with the one from Senur to Lembongan with the scrambling across the outboard motors and up to knees in the sea. Bill met me at the Nellie Bay terminal and we had a good drive all round the island, seeing fantastic beaches and tropical forest roads. We went and fed the rock wallabies at Horseshoe Bay and had morning tea at his place all up a great day. If we can do it next year I will take over my van and stay a few days, really wanted to snorkel at the bay and spend more time taking in the ambience of Magnetic Island.
Had no plans where to camp tonight but had thought to go back to Bluewater and drive the Hervey Ranges to come out at Fletcher's Creek tomorrow but at the last moment decided to go to Macrossen Park but didn't make it because I got as far as Reid River Camps6 #280 and stopped for the night. John

Reid River looked pretty good John - Macrossen is a huge area, if you haven't been there, and just 22k into Charters -
