Drove up to Mackay and on to Seaforth to have a look at the Seaforth Camping Reserve, it was very crowded and charged $21 per night for an non powered site for up to 6 people with no discount for pensioners or singles. I moved on to Ball Bay Camping Reserve Camps6 #66 they had the same inflexible pricing structure but I decided to stay one night. It is a beautiful place with a walk through to the sea, flushing toilets and drinking water. Tomorrow I plan to travel up to Guthalungra 40kms north of Bowen to stay overnight in the same camp site where I caught up with Billeeeee & Jules on the way down.
During the day I had no internet access but checking at 4am found that I could paste this prepared post. John

Oh No - we are ships in the night. I was at Guthalungra last night but have moved to a park in Bowen - ran out of water and need power for a day. Sorry to have missed you again! I had intended to stay another night but.... Have Family living at Seaforth - too many sandflies there - shame as it is very pretty.

Camped here at Guthalungra on the way down to the Gold Coast but this time it wasn't as much fun, last time I caught up with Billeeee &Jules and we had a ball. The link below is for the first of 2 blog posts about Guthalungra.
I called into Airlie Beach on my way up from Mackay to have a look at the place that I have heard so much about but had no idea how big the town is. I had also heard a lot about Mission Beach but didn't know how small it was compared to Airlie Beach. John
