Just around 40kms north of St Lawrence is Clairview Beach Camps6 #88 and that is as far as I have travelled today. The Camps book says that it is a day stop only but it has been changed so drive past the Caravan park along the esplanade for a couple of kms and you will find a long stretch of the coastline where you can camp, just past the dump point and the Community Centre where you can buy cloths cakes, soft drinks and a cup of coffee.
Lots of room when I got here around mid day but is filling up as the afternoon wears on. There are toilets and tables here but no water plus room for the biggest rig. I am camped very close to the beach as the pic suggests. John

What a great spot John. Will keep that in mind for when I travel north. Do you know how long you would be able to stay there?

Looks like a great spot John - we are in Ravenshoe - free camp at the end of the town. Great spot - pretty full - gold coin donation for hot showers.

Not sure Marj but one van looked like it had been there for a while.
With the camping spread out along the esplanade I found that the togetherness of St Lawrence was missing where vans were opposite and parked closer.
Well worth a night stopover but wouldn't stay long myself.

The 'bible' doesn't give a time limit Marj. Probably because it's not officially an overnighter.

Ah Clairview, one of my most favourites spots in Qld. I stayed at the CP last time I was there and had a great fun night at the shop cum pub there.
