Been watching the Olympics (as you do) and am blown away by the clunky big medals.
Biggest ever at 400gms- compared to Sydney's 180 grams.

Now, I know every athlete wants a medal, but this one is ugly - in my humble view. looks like you should take the foil off to eat the chocolate.
Any other views?

So if they win several of these awards their luggage will go into excess weight. Hmmmmm, something to ponder.

I watched the opening ceremony then went away for the weekend. Just settled back in to watch and catch up. Haven't seen a medal yet but will be watching with anticipation.

Read somewhere yesterday that the gold medals are actually LESS than 2 per cent gold . . . mainly bronze with a coating. Nothing's real any more, is it?

We've won gold in the women's 4 x 100 relay, but those we expected to win medals didn't. The poor cyclists had to struggle after the Tour de France. That's bad planning. Plenty to go. The opening ceremony was brilliant. I enjoyed the story, the presentation, the entertainment and the whole concept. Very clever.

CG, win a gold medal and you fly home buisness class, weight limits are higher in BC
