I have a webber Q and would like to run some piping from my 9kg gas bottle at the front of the van to the side under the annex so I can operate the Bar B Q around there sitting on a table. Does anyone know if this can be done legally in Victoria? does anyone know what the regulations for this to be done please?
I see lots of vans with the pull out type bar b q etc.
Help appreciated,
Thanks
Tess

There are a lot of vans around with external gas bayonet points. They are quite legal to have installed. You just have to get a licensed gas fitter to do it for you.

When you get it fitted try and find a old bayonet as a plug. Or it may fill with dirt. I turn the tap off as well it just makes it much easier to push the batonet in if its clean..

Thats a good idea, but otherwise just buy one of those rubber crutch tips and push it on. My van came with an outlet fitted and a rubber tip for a cover - works well, cheap as chips, and easily replaced if lost or forgotten
And just seconding another reply to your query - no matter how easy it might look, do not install this yourself. Apart from the legalities, paying a qulaified guy is money well spent if you value safety
