We have been on the road for over 5 weeks so far - and this time we didn't bring the dog. He's not actually our dog but our son's. Sound familiar? So we have left him with the son. Why? Because he has cancer (the dog does) and if he has to 'go' it would be best to be with him or later, when, if he is still alive, when we pick him up again and take him back to our place. The vet said last December he wouldn't last long - but he's still with us even though his cancer lumps are getting bigger. So I haven't been able to read this part of the forum up til now - even though I never wanted to have a dog, he has gotten into my heart. I must admit though, it has probably made it quite a bit easier to travel - but when I think about it, every caravan park we've used this far has allowed dogs anyway.

They do it to us don't they, they know how to work the emotions. For most of this week I have been home alone, son went away for a few days. I've been looking after his staffy cross dog called Cody. Guess where he has ended up at night, inside sleeping on my sofa. Too cold and wet for the poor boy to stay outside. What do I do tonight when son comes home. I bet I've got Cody inside with me for the winter.

i know how you feel neilnruth, i wasnt looking when i got Ben originlly ,just happend and nmow 2 years with out him, he too had cancer, throat cancer actually.. some times life dont seem fair
