Ifind injector cleaner handy on the older type diesels like mine but I don,t know about the new commomrail types. My diesel blows a bit of white smoke, and then runs clear and there is a definate increse in power and it uses less fuel. I do it about once a year, or about 10000klms.Bill

Have used injector clean in my repair business for years, Wynns, added a bottle to tank on every tune, roughly 20000km. Never had to get injectors cleaned and most clients commented that cars used less fuel and performed/started much better. Used it in quite a few diesel L/Cruisers over the years and had really good results there as well.

Gday...
I used Diesel Injector Cleaner stuff in my previous vehicles going back to 1980s - HiLux non-turbo diesel, HiLux Turbo Diesel, 60, 80 and 100 series Cruisers - all non-turbo. I used to add 100ml (I think it was) to each tank of fuel when I filled up. Each of them were 'old sytle' diesels. They seemed to love it and each of those vehicles ran really well - and never blew smoke
However, I had a Hyundai Terracan CRDi turbo-diesel and now have the Landy Discovery 3 - I have never put any cleaner through them .... sort of think they are a bit hi-tech and not sure whether it would 'damage' the injectors which are under high pressure.
No technical basis for my decision - just my gut feeling.
Cheers - John
