The Finke Desert race is also on in June. The race is a 2 day event with day one from Alice following the old Ghan route to Finke, day two back to Alice and a couple of preliminary days. It's from the 8 June to the 11 June this year. I've been to the last 2 with a few mates and their bikes and buggies, but unfortunately we're giving it a miss this years due to commitments like work, having babies (not us, the young blokes who would have been competing) etc. etc.. Ah well we should be there next year.

Is anyone here besides us going?
There is free camping with showers & toilet on the oval but we will be staying in the caravan park as I don't think they like our furry friends too close to the cars, understandably.
I hope the forecast showers stay away even though it may bring a little warmth in the nights.
