OMG! After heaps of procrastination I have finally got my campervan. I'm off to Dawin next weekend for the dry - look out Markets here I come! - then to Kununurra in August-ish. I must admit I'm excited/nervous/terrifed about this solo business - so if you come across an aged silver Nissan Urvan camper, give me a wave? Cheers.......

If you were using GN and not being iegit then you have to go to the naughty corner, I am there often.

Welcome Charlie, have a great time in your travels. I presume you are heading up through the middle, if not might see you up the east coast somewhere.

Get out there and enjoy the second part of your journey Charlie. The first part is the planning and finding out about all the things you will see and experience.
Don't forget to get out and talk to fellow travellers. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are usually only too glad to share.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. If it hadn't been for reading all the positive comments on this site I probably wouldn't have made the leap to do the solo bit. So my camper has now been scrubbed and polished, tomorrow is engine service day then Friday is 'I'm out of here' day. And Wombat, when I get to WA, I'll be looking out for you. Again, thanks to you all..................

Hi Charlie, welcome. If you're passing through Pt. Wakefield Rd. Bolivar, call in for a cuppa and a chat. My family lives at Loby, where I spent my childhood. Safe and happy travels, and if you're really into markets you're in for a really good time in Darwin. If you head west Broome has the legendery Court House Markets.

August is a good time to be in Kununurra. The mangoes are almost ripe. Stay until September and you'll be amongst them.
Happy travels, Clyde

Thanks Chrissy. We lived in Loby from 78 to 92 then moved out and about. Now I've gone full circle and am back in Woodside. Small world hey? If I get to Bolivar, probably on the way back as things stand, I'll contact you. Would be great to have a cuppa. Cheers.

A bit early for mangoes in Kununurra, but if you hang around for a few weeks, you'll get the first pickings. YUM! They have a mango festival in Broome in November and they can have up to 10 varieties of fruit. Very messy with mango juice down the arms, but oh so indulgent.
