Set off to Willie Creek Camps6 #622 after spending time catching up with some shopping. The road suggested small vehicles only with 4WD recommended but the direct route was closed due to peak tides washing out sections leaving the only access some 10kms further round and should be 4WD but I was committed to going and took my chances arriving safely but another camper and his friend were not so lucky. In the dark they went a couple of metres further than safe and paid the price by getting bogged in the soft sand. I noticed their plight this morning and spent an hour helping them get out, the folding shovel again came in handy. Am getting experienced by now having been bogged twice and helped two others get out from being bogged.
For the first time on this trip I have seen signs warning about salt water crocodiles so I have been very careful where I walked to take photos and left the snorkelling gear in the van. There is a Pearl Farm at Willie Creek and tours are organised from Broome for tourists to travel there on Coaches for $95 per conducted tour. I walked to the building but didnt enter to take the tour. There is provision for launching boats into the Creek and no doubt excellent fishing opportunities from the beach but I received an email from Steven indicating that he may be in Broome earlier than the 3rd so I left this morning and am back in Broome.

Went to Cable beach this afternoon and swam there in warm seawater with a temperature of 32 degrees  am pleased I made delays on the trip to arrive here in May, can't imagine what it would be like in summer. Watched as the camel trains came to the beach to set up for their daily walks, I noticed three different trains one blue another red and a third brown. The pictures at sunset with the camels walking along the beach would be amazing but I wanted to get to the rest area #95  Free Campsites North of WA 8kms north from the Broome turnoff.    John
