Thanks for all the advice you all gave me before I started my journey. I am now on the peninsulas in South Australia, slowly heading for Adelaide then cutting across to Lightning Ridge by the end of June. I know my five months on the road is just a 'taster'. I can understand those who never go home again. Just turning my car towards Brisbane makes me sad, though I know it won't be long and I'll be on my way again. Thanks to all the wonderful people I have met on the road.

Which peninsula are you on? I'm at Victor Harbour at the moment - in a caravan park though because there aren't any good campsites nearby. Rapid Bay is just lovely though.

Hi Monica. You're in my territory at the moment. I have daughters in that neck of the woods. If you have travelled down the coast from Elliston to Coffin Bay you may have enjoyed Sheringa Beach. Some interesting formations on the beach. Safe and happy travels.

I have enjoyed writing the blog, Marj - the first time I have attempted one. I hope it is informative without being heavy and that it conveys something of the author. The frustrating bit has been inserting photos as the blogspot won't let me place them where I want to. I just put them as close as I can to the text. Maybe when I get to publish it into book form, I may be able to edit it more accurately.

I am heading for home, much earlier than i expected. My mother has had a stroke and, although I have said my goodbyes many times, I need to be there. I'm leaving adelaide in the morning. Monica

It's unfortunate your travels have to be cut short. Not before we enjoyed a cuppa and a chat fest. Safe and happy travels.

I am overwhelmed by the support you have all shown me. Thank you all so very much.
The next few days till the funeral on Thursday will be long. But I am blessed. There aren't many whose parents both reached 91. Two of my brothers and I have made all the arrangements. I am currently working on the order of service and thinking about the eulogy that I will deliver with my elder brother. I keep telling my younger siblings that they should take over that task before we older two drop off our perches - just to get the practice. They have all decided that they will learn on the job when their time comes. So I have a lot of thinking and writing to do in the next couple of days - that will hopefully keep me busy. I have made and received dozens of phone calls and probably more when the notice goes in the courier mail on Tuesday.
Once again, let me say how much I appreciate your thoughtfulness . Monica

I'm sure your eulogy will be filled with positive words of wisdom. Your "wordology" is well-executed, so although it's a "goodbye" message, but it's time to celebrate a life.
