If any of you stopped on the highway at or near the Ogmore turnoff [a bit north of Marlborough, Qld.] about 2 or 3 weeks ago, and lost a black Long Haired Chihuahua or similar dog, please PM me. He's being cared for.
Cheers, Sheba

Not the first time it's happened up here. I remember a few years ago, some-one drove off from the BP Servo at Marlborough, and for days and days, staff tried to catch the little dog that was left behind, [another Chihuahua believe it or not.] to feed it and look after it, without success. Don't remember if Dingoes finally got it, [Lots of them up here. I saw one today, on the way back from Rocky, not far from where the latest one was found. He's very lucky.] or he just died from starvation.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Now be honest, would you keep a dog on a leash 24/7?

Unless she is in the van YES! And she is a chihuahua. Wouldn't let her off and out of reach because she is vunerable to larger dogs.

Edit. Have they checked to see if this little dog is microchipped Sheba, any vet or lost dogs home have the equipment to check.

No luck yet Marj. The nearest Vet is a 2 hour drive away, at Rockhampton, and people up here only go to Rocky every 3 or 4 weeks.
Will be posting a Pic. tomorrow. It may not be a Chihuahua after all.
Cheers,
Sheba.

It's been with these people since the 19th. Survived quite well on its own for a while though, as they said it's in good condition.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Not sure to either question Marj. I was going by what I had been told, before I saw the Pic.
I have one here who looks similar, and he is a Chihuahua cross, but I don't know what the other half is. Looks like it could be some sort of Terrier.
Cheers,
Sheba.

He looks terrier in the face and eyes Sheba. His legs don't seem very long, but hard to tell from that photo just how big he is. Surely someone will come along in one of the posts you have up who might know who owns him/her.

That's a disgusting thing to do and yet so many people still do it even with all the facilities available these days for the rehoming of unwanted pets.

Hope the poor little mite adjusts to his new home... he's luckier than most who would end up dead or in the pound. We humans are a horrible lot sometimes.

He looks like a beaut bloke. He'll be fine in a home where he's wanted and appreciated.
