Just returned to civilisation from a week at Teddington Reservoir campground in the St Arnaud Range National Park - Camps6 447 (36 50 36 S 14315 46 E).
What a fantastic, tranquil, attractive place - no mobile or internet or TV reception. Within close Ironbark forest but a large, open (but with lovely shade trees) camping area which could cope with probably 30 or more campers (about 12 fireplaces). Flushing toilets, a tap providing 'untreated' reservoir water but no showers . Being a National Park no pets (or firearms) sorry.
Entry is from Stuart Mill on the Sunraysia Highway which is about halfway between Avoca and St Arnaud. Turn into Teddington Road in middle of Stuart Mill (ya carn't miss it ) - where the phone box is. The campground is about 7km along a good bitumen (narrow) road until you get to the National Park entrance, then less than 1km of excellent dirt road to campground.
There are no fees, the ranger was a really friendly and informative visitor.
Here are a couple of photos of the place to whet your appetite.
That looks beautiful. Was there anyone else there while you were there john?

Gday...
There was a couple from WA there as well. They had been there for four days when I arrived, but they left the next day.
Late on the Friday night, three 4X4s with campertrailers travelling together arrived - three young couples (my age ) who were only going to be there for the weekend.
However, that weekend was the weekend of big rain (Mildura had 70mm in 2 hours weekend) ... so they left at lunchtime Saturday, which left me all alone until I left last Tuesday.
There could be 30 vans like mine there at the same time and it would not be crowded. The sites are large and could cope with maybe four vans/camps each and the sites are well spaced out. It would not be crowded. Three flushing toilets which may have problems if a huge crowd was there.
Other than that - it is definitely on my list for places to camp again sometime in the future - if I ever end back in the area .
Cheers
John

Glad you liked Teddington Res.
As I mentioned in another thread it is one of our favourite campsites and on many visits we have yet to find it crowded.
Your photos are great, especially as I have never seen that much water there. Thanks for sharing.
We have not been there for a couple of years now, as sadly it is not pet friendly.

Just went for a drive over to Teddington Res to have a look. Only 60 km from home. Lived here 25 yrs and have never been there. A great camping spot, think we might take the van over for a couple of days soon. Lots of bird life so the camera will have a work out as well.
Cheers
