Nice place to live. We used to go to Barmera and camp on the shores of lake Bonney, don't know if that is still permitted, would guess not.

Loved free camping at Thiele's Sandbar last time we were here and visited it again today. Had a look at Riverfront CP but do not take dogs. We have 2 Golden Retrievers.
JRH Going to have a look at Lake Bonney tomorrow. We stayed at CP about 30 years ago! How time flies!!!! ]

Not sure, only moved here 5 months ago. I have seen ppl campped on the other side of the lake from barmera, but they dont stay long so maybe they are moved on, dont know. When I get to know more locals ( I think that takes years though, small town syndrome) I will ask.

Yep it definitely flies, I look back and wonder where all that time went, I mean 30 years ago I was only 40, geez I would love to turn back the hands of time I can tell you. So much to see and do and not a hell of a lot of time to do it now. We live in the best country in the world and there is so much it has to offer that we can never get to see and do it all.

You will always be the blow in pal, even in 30 years time you will be the Johnny come latley. We have friends who moved to Koo Wee Rup over 30 years ago and they are still the blow ins.

Have never stayed at the caravan park there, when we camped at Lake Bonney we had a big 12x12 tent so we just drove onto the grass and set up camp along with lots of others, next time we take the caravan over to SA we will definitely be going to Barmera once again we have so many wonderful memories of the place.

In Rockingham where we live I met a bloke with the same name as me, he also had 3 children a boy and two girls with the same names as our children and born in the same order.

OMG. Thats scary. If the children went to the same school, it would have been 'fun' for the teachers (and kids).

It was as they not only went to the same school they were the same ages so they were also sharing some of the classes in High School and I can tell you it certainly caused a little bit of confusion at times.

That really is creepy. What are the odds? Do they look similar as well?
I was at Avoca Dell, on the opposite side of the river from Murray Bridge, last weekend. It's great to see the river with water in it. In fact it's still flooding in some of the lower areas, and the wetlands are really wet.
A neighbour here in the van park comes from Loxton, and goes up there occasionally. I passed through there with work twice in the last month or so.

Thank God no Chris but the names and ages match, boy same name and age as ours and the girls also. Had the teachers scratching their heads quite frequently also.

Hi Mergatroy,
Sorry I didn't log on yesterday and missed your invitation for a drink! We are on our way home via Walker Flat tomorrow. Will free camp there for 2 days. Looked at Barmera but was very windy at the edge of the lake.
We come up here often so maybe catch up next time.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
