I am currently in Ariah Park NSW (proun: Air-re-ah) - (38km west of Temora/115km east of Griffith) 1km off the Burley Griffin Way. Camps6 Site 965. I am sharing with only 4 other campers.
Campsites are free with toilets, clothes lines and good town water. However, if you want power and hot showers then cost is $10/night with 3rd night free (= $6.60/night for 3 nights). Amenities block when $10/night has been paid are modern and clean and also give access to the washing machine for no fee. Pets allowed on leash as well.
The town of Ariah Park has been lovingly restored by the locals to its 1920s style - pretty as a picture.
An excellent place - locals very friendly and chatty. Toots comes daily to clean amenities etc and chats to campers.
Photo below of the camping area which is adjacent to the sports oval.
Cheers
John

Edits are the result of me forgetting to put stuff in .... eg dogs OK, washing machine no fee ... and one of my 'word omissions' getting fixed which I usually pick up before I hit 'submit post' .......

Elaine and I have just exchanged emails about this for your "meet up". Good to see you might be leaving SEQ (Jimboomba) again.

Just read your email Lorraine. Sounds like the go to me. Might even extend the stay to a couple of nights.
This will be the first stop in our half lap up to Darwin and down the West Coast. There are a few of us going so anyone that wants to do all or part of the trip feel free. All the more the merrier.
