It is amazing how people visit a place, see some things miss others........just goes to show that 1 visit to a place is not enough.

I do sort of have a reason...we left rather quickly and just got out of the place before there were major floods in the area.
Had we stayed longer, no doubt I woud have visited there and then had my own pics to share as well.
Does give me a good excuse to go back tho.

Gday...
Yes that's the one. There is no camping at the caves site and there are no signs on the Newell Hw to direct you to the caves as the Indigenous Community who co-manage the area do not want to attract too much attention to the site. The caves have strong cultural history for them.
However, coming from Coonabarabran, travel 26km to the Piliga Pottery turnoff, continue on a further 9.5km and turn right into Yaminbah Trail (a small sign close to the ground). The caves are about 1km along the Trail.
If you are just travelling past it is well worth the hour or so to visit the caves on the 1.7km walk.
Accommodation is not close - Baradine (Camp Cypress) Camps6 915 - or if you arrive a bit late there is a good free-camp on the Newell (Camps6 917) which is north of the caves turnoff but not a bad looking night's rest spot.
Cheers
John
