I can't open this file on my laptop which runs Windows 7 Home. I could open it on the desktop PC without a problem, so it must be some program missing from the laptop.
When I click on the PDF a popup asks me if I want to save or open the file. I then click on 'open' and a screen pops up that says' view downloads - internet explorer' with the same question, do you want to open or save.
Help!

I have the same as you Beth. Windows 7 Home. Had no problem opening it. I clicked on the underlined bit and it went straight through. Sometimes where there is something missing you might have to keep clicking for a while to get it to work.

Yes, that's the bit I click on. I must be missing a program, I think.

I have a similiar problem when asked to comment on something or vote on something here on the nomads. It won't let me through to do it. So I just give up.

I know I had the same problem before it went in for a new hard drive. Of course when they put in the new one, I had to start all over again, like it was brand new.
I just can't remember what program is missing. Thinking thinking....

Yep, mine is emailed to me, but I couldn't get it to open. All fixed now...and I fixed it myself! Once the brain clicked in anyway.

if the problem has just started then i usally go to systerm restore to reset to an earlier date. sometimes without knowing a piece of the program gets deleted or corupt and restoring it usally fix the problem.

Good to hear Beth. Isn't it funny (read: annoying, embarrassing, b****y frustrating) how simple it seems once you work out what was wrong.

Yes, b***dy frustrating alright! Just couldn't think what was wrong! Until I made a goose of myself by finally working it out myself!
