Hi everyone.........from a jetlagged GN! I have to say that the key to staying well has been my flu and Pneumonia injections. How I didnt succumb to the bugs isnt just luck alone as I really believe the injections were the difference.
Did I mention that I had a good time?()
cheers,
ozi2

Have to agree with you, ozi2. Had my jabs in March, flew to NZ for two wet and cold weeks, then 5 weeks later went to Bali. If you're going to pick up bugs, air travel is the best place for them. Not even a sniffle this year.

No always the case though.
For the past 5 years (not including this year) I have had all the appropriate shots and each year came down with the flu within 2 weeks of the jab.
Before the shots I hadn't had a sniffle in nearly 20 years.
This year decided not to have the injection, did some very cold travelling down in Vic and SA and then quite warm trip up to QLD.....................
You guessed it............
not even the likelihood of a sniffle or anything.
Maybe I am one of those that don't tolerate the shots.

Yep, me too. I will sometimes get a cold, which then turns into a chest infection, but no flu!

Always get the flu jabs - at the appropriate time my doctor "makes" me have it.

Good to hear you are home safe and well ozi2 - and all you lucky and healthy people with no colds or flu - stay fit, keep moving, and do what I do - absolutely refuse to let a cold or flu attach itself to me - haven't got time to worry about it.

Hi Jules and thanks. I had a most wonderful time in Malaysia and Singapore but 16 days was just enough. A positive mindset certainly helps doesnt it! Something that annoyed me while traveling on planes etc was the number of people yet to learn how to use a tissue or cover their mouth isnt an exercise in intellect.....
cheers,

I detest people who sniff!
I have a Japanese s-i-l who used to sniff a lot, but apparently it's bad manners to blow your nose in public!!
But I notice she doesn't sniff so much now, so little brother must have taught her otherwise.
Planes are a terrible place to pick up germs.

Did anyone see on the news today, researchers have found that the flu injection can reduce the risk of heart attack. Interesting study I thought.
