There is usually a Turkish Bazaar on here in Echuca the day before Melbourne Cup Day. They close off the main street and the stalls cover the whole street. With all sorts of entertainment as well. I haven't heard anything for this years yet , but will check it out.
They also have a Melbourne Cup Day at the Echuca Racing Club on the Tuesday of the cup.

Hi Happywander,

Didn't see any BBQs Mr Red, but did see lots of areas where fires had been, just on the ground in front of where people were camped. At night there was at least 2 or 3 fires going. Must take own firewood with you I was told.

Good idea to take your own firewood because there's not much around - will be even less after the cup weekend.

Looks like I will be heading there on the Tuesday 1st Nov. Hoping most of the long weekenders will be leaving as I'm arriving. Am busy getting myself sorted at moment. Myrtle has had her service and is now running better than ever after having the points in the distributor replaced. Will get new gas bottle tomorrow and have a battery gauge arriving in the next few days. Then intend heading out there for a couple of days next week depending on the weather. Maybe going to the Elmore Field Day while there and popping over to Shepparton on way home to see if any cheap curtains. The one I've ordered for across the back of kitchen is still another week away. That will be 4 weeks. Not good enough. Will get my own from Spotlight ready made next time for other windows.

Hi all ..
My plans still are to be be there but just yet not quite sure of dates and times .. suffice to say that I like to arrive early wherever I travel to .. Dont like surprises hehe ! but if all goes well and I can get away from Sydney early, then I will first head down to Macquarie Woods in NSW (approx halfway between Bathurst and Orange) and spend some time there. Its a great free camp with plenty of room .. drop toilets and porcelain pushbutton toilets too .. plenty of water but no showers .. well maintained by the Forrestry and a nice place to chill out ..
From there will head down via Forbes .. to Colleambally .. to Echuca ..

I am heading to Greens Lake during the next week if anyone else is a round. Probably Thursday as my new curtain is due to arrive on Wednesday. JazzinAround and friend David in their motorhomes are heading there early in the week having arrived back from W.A. They will be staying around for a while as Jazzin is hoping to do a few markets in the area selling her crafts.
So if anyone happens to be staying out there come and say hello. I will be coming and going depending on the weather and finances as having bought a few things am waiting for them to be fitted and hoping to buy new awning in a fortnight.

I'm heading to Greens Lake either Wednesday or Thursday of this week. JazzinAround is already there as is David, a friend of hers who is heading back to Tassie on Friday. I hope to stay at least 5 days this trip, there is going to be a little rain but the night are supposed to be up to 10 degrees and days 22 -24 degrees. Have an appointment back home here next Monday then may go back out there again for another peaceful stay. Jazz will be around the area now till our Nov meet there, having just come back from WA. Anyone around the area looking for somewhere pleasant and peaceful to stay don't forget to say hello if you do come by.
