Thankyou Wombat. Had already googled. No answers that I could see, other than it comes on when the top tank is empty. (but it isn't) Will have to go to nearest dealer I think. and I can't until Thursday. O woe is me.

No, didn't think I'd need one here in civilisation. Forgot my Girl Guide motto "Be Prepared" Just a pain. Have to trudge over to the park loos outside in the dark, wet and cold.

We had a problem with our cassette when it was full. emptied the cassette and the red light was still on. It went off when we opened and closed the cassette Ken

Thanks Dun Wurkun. When you say open and closed the cassette, do you mean the waste tank?
Thanks Wombat. Thats really good. Looks like something has to be replaced. I think I'll leave it to the experts.

Hi ..
Had the same problem with mine for a bit ... did all the tests & finally a Thetford rep at a local c'van show suggested that the 'float arm' inside the cassette may have jumped over a restraining 'lip'.
Sure enough that was it.
All I did was to GENTLY lift the float arm over the ridge to let it swing free. easy peasy!
(It seems that the float hangs down vertically when the cassette is empty & raises to the horizontal as it fills. When close to horizontal the magnet in the arm operates the reed relay on the exterior of the capsule. If the arm rides over the limiting ridge then it is held in the operating position.)
If you use a mirror & torch you can look up & see the swinging float & the stopper.
Clean the cassette with several applications of coles nappy san stuff in warm water to make the manipulation/inspection process less unplesant.

Thanks Cupie, will have a look tomorrow when its light
Hi,
I'm having a bit of a drama at the moment. The red flush indicator light has come on.
Yes, there is water in the tank.
Emptied the cassette this morning so its not full.
@#$%$#@ Why does this have to happen now and not in daylight. Of course its Sunday tomorrow and nearest agent is 80kms away.
Hope someone might have come across this proplem and may be able to offer some advice.
Thanks a lot
Chi Chi
