I have a leak inside the rear window is dripping water from the bottom of the rear wiper housing, I suspect it is coming through the shaft of the wiper into the housing then dripping from there inside the van.
We have had heavy overnight rain in Perth and the van is parked on a slight downhill sloped drive with the rear of the van at the highest point.
Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it please,
Thanks
Vic

I had a look this morning, looks like the top of the rear window is leaking and it is coming in from there, couldn't do that last night as it was raining too heavily.....nice clear sky this morning though ! Looks like a trip to the Window people.

Thanks FF and Blaze, because it's right over our beds and mattress, I can't afford to go away until it's fixed properly, another niggling item to get fixed before I hit the road for my maiden trip......much appreciated.

Well, just had the rear windscreen resealed, too it out as blaze said and resealed it. They said there was a wide are that was not sealed which was letting the water in, so fortunate we had heavy rain and I discovered this before my maiden trip. All fixed now so almost ready for the road, all I have to do now is find a maiden to take with me......oh, hang on, I forgot the missus is coming with me .

Yes, I hope his wife is ok also, so whose the chick holding my photo, never mind my new avatar (thanks for the graphics by the way, lol )
Windscreen was done by another mob, probably just as big or close to the one you mentioned. They (Obie's) were the most expensive, but in retrospect might have solved the problem. Back in being tested at the moment, I did my own little test today and it may be coming from my back tail light high up in the door, or the reversing mirror.
Hope they find and fix it whatever it is.....

I'm here!!!
The Mrs is a lot better but still not 100%.
I've been a bit busy, earning a few $ through the day and the last couple of evenings been assisting a couple of my grandkids with some schoolwork that they weren't quite understanding, on top of it now.
Now what's this Vic about you still leaking on your bed???

Yeh pretty disgusting Gubby, can't find a bottle big enough.......Glad the Mrs is a lot better, did you notice my new avatar? Took it down then realised you were back, so put it up again......you know who to blame........say no more !!
Regards the leak, it turned out to be the stoplight in the centre of the door at the top, wasn't sealed for some reason, although the windscreen mob reckon that needed doing too. Anyway, take the setting tape off tomorrow and hope it (the leak) has gone forever!! Maybe I just might be able to use the camper for the first time soon !

Thanks Sheba.....had a bit of a drama with the dealer I bought the van off (before conversion), did contact Ministry of Fair Trading (Consumer Affairs) and was going to take it further but decided in my case (miniscule in comparison with Marj's) they weren't worth pursuing, so cutting my losses and keeping my "Karma" intact, what goes around comes around as they say.....

Well, all fixed at last, the stop/brake light at the top of the door had supposedly been sealed but still leaked when I removed the setting tape the next day, so back again to them. Resealed and when I took the tape off later today and gave it the water treatment (test) it was ok, so took me three visits but they fixed it in the end. I wish they had bothered to "test" their repair after they had supposedly finished it on the first two occasions, just a waste of time and inconvenience to the customer.
So now at last I can finish packing the van and put the cushions and bedding in!

Spoke too soon, noticed today they had broken the lens of the stop/brake light and glued it together. I took the setting tape off late yesterday and didn't notice it until today........ringing them tomorrow........sheesh I am really getting fed up with the mob, been to them three times now, twice to fix what they didn't fix in the first place and now this........

Yes, it's the high up stop/brake light in the centre rear of the van, the right and left brake lights are ok. I rang the Owner/Manager (he is both) and his response was I wasn't working Saturday, you'll have to bring it in on Thursday when the other bloke is here from Saturday. When I reminded him he was the owner of the business, his reply was he wasn't making any comment on something he doesn't know anything about (despite the fact he was there two days last week when I had the van in and had to return it).....hmmmm.
Now I thought a "I'll look into it and ring you back" or "I,ll speak to him on Thursday and give you a ring".....but no, a really cold DILLIGAF (Do I look like I give a....) attitude. So now taking it in on Thursday, but think it will be like Wombat says they will claim it wasn't like it when it left them (as though I can see under the tape they put on).
I rang Toyota and a new Lens unit (you have to buy the whole bit) is $246 (not fitted). Their Fitter at Toyota there told me that they are supplied with a gasket and that is all is needed to waterproof it (can't buy it separately) and they don't need any sealant. Trouble is Toyota won't sell the gasket (or lens) separately and they are the only place you can buy it. I can't see this window fitting mob forking out for a new one. Hate leaving it with them again if it comes to that while they probably scout the wreckers for a 2nd hand one. I haven't been able to finish loading the van or put in the bedding etc as I don't want it left in their hands for a day with stuff in it, I saw when I picked it up the other day that someone had put down the centre seat (acts like a table) so one of them must have had their lunch in there or was having a sticky, the light is accessed from the rear of the vehicle, no need for them to go inside the van except to move it.
I can't name this Windscreen mob, but they are an Australian wide franchise (individually owned) and start with an "I".......

Hmmmm.......well spoke with two managers at "I" today at the Osborne Park Branch and the 2nd one contacted one of the owners and directors of the company who would not come to the party.
He said their policy is that they will not be responsible for any breakages on an R&R (Remove and Refit) only for new glass fittings, and to be fair they do write that on their repair dockets, whether this is legal or not I don't.
So, out of pocket $160, light lens cracked and glued, but at least not leaking (but for how long?). Bear in mind that initially that was for the rear window where they said the leak was coming from, and although they claimed it was and resealed it, it was leaking from the high level stop light still......hmmmm.....new high level light from Toyo $248, 2nd hand from wreckers $100, neither include fitting/labour to install it.

A bit of good news, I wrote to the dealer I originally bought my van off and before that they were refusing to accept liablity for the leak and saying they were not responsible. I mentioned that I had contacted Consumer Affairs and would be following it up if they refused to pay for the leaks and also a missing towing hook required to tow the vehicle.
Got a cheque today for the full amount so at least some joy on that front........
