Relative newcomer amaysim has released a new deal which may appeal to some GNs.
For $39.90 a month you get unlimited calls to Australian mobiles and landline phones, unlimited texts and 4gb of data (for those with flash phones), along with unlimited access to social sites (Twitter, Facebook, etc) and EBay.
OK, it runs on the Optus network, so coverage is not as good as Telstra if you're in the deep bush, but it seems a good deal for those wanting regular contact with kids, family etc, even if you are not travelling.

Talking about mobile phones, do you remember the original ones, it wasn't all that long ago.

Hi there Tony, I have been with Amaysim for several months now on a Pre-paid setup. I find it an excellent service so far, 15c local calls and 15c per minute with NO flagfall to mobiles. There is also 3 - 4 months to use your credit which suits me.
Cheers Neil

Hi Neil, I didn't know about the 15c local calls (presumably to landlines). Must look into that. Cheaper than my home landline phone! As mobile call deals go it's by far the best in the country.
I gather from reports on Wednesday that the authorities are about to crack right down on the mobile companies and their so-called "cap" plans, which are not caps at all but just another huge rort and rip-off. If Amaysim can provide calls for 15c and no flagfall, why does a Telstra call cost about 10 times as much?
I'm just using up credit on a Savvytel phone, and then in goes the Amaysim chip. Cheers, Tony

Hi there My husband has a $79 cap plan with Optus that he has had for 7 years but lately he has been going over his cap wow that then gets expensive, if he went with Amaysin can he keep his same phone number as that would be quite a saving.

I think what Sheba is saying there are no posts between your one of the 10th and your one now, the 22nd, when there should be more.
