Hi Everyone. I am sitting in front of the info centre at Nerrandera. Have had a good run so far, thanks for the coffee Norma to get me on my way, I needed it. I stopped at a free camp last night 39 ks north of Jerilderie called Bandure. Had toilets and a large stop with lots of trucks coming and going all night, but found mysel a little corner where I could watch the world go by, well trucks mainly. Ken Thomas, if you are on here the onl other couple when I pulledin were friends of ours Bett and Mal. They said to say high an kept an ee on me from a distance. No reception for anthing so spent the evening lying in bed thinking how to sort Myrtle out. Got up this morning and spent two hours taking everthing out and repacking. Now I can walk the length without tripping over things.

In case anyone wondering. I don't have Punky with me. A lady my age was looking for a little dog and I was a bit dubious how I was going to handle myself, Myrtle and Punky. Thought i t only fair to find her a new home where she has plent of space to run and play and Not be cooped up in here while I'm off enjoying mself. Was sad but sure I've made the right decision. The Y on my keyboard is playing up so have had to go back over and put them in, so if you can't understand me if I leave any out.
Mrtle is running well. Sits smoothl on 95ks. So no problems except when the speedo gets to 999 on the end it takes about 5 ks to click over to 000. Will talk to S in L about it but not causing an problems, Just done a few more ks than it actuall says. Heading for Wyalong to park behind the Shell Roadhouse. Bett and Mal said it was a good free stop and can use their showers etc. Good time for a decent feed too and chat to some people.

Gee that was a big, hard decision to make - leaving your pet behind, but it seems like you thought it out in the best interest of the pet. To live this lifestyle we sometimes have to make some sacrifices. I can relate to repacking the car - I've repacked Rosy my Cruiser twice to make the most of the space, reduce movement of jerry cans, camping gear, tool boxes, camping box, fridge and suitcase. Then I went to the auto electrician, so they had to pull everything apart including the car panels to conceal the wiring, and then I had to pack it again. Isn't this fun? Enjoy yourself and soak up all the country you drive through, as it slides by.

Hi Guys, At the Shell Roadhouse, parked up for the night. I'm in the cafe charging the laptop. Worked out today why nothing will work on t he new inverter. The damn house battery seems to be stuffed, rang S in L, we did all the tests etc, lights on etc. Batt needs replacing. Anthing else that doesn't work in this here Myrtle. Will wait till I get to sons place in Biggenden then buy a deep cycle battery. He should be able to fit it for me and S in L can offer advice over the phone. So am charging laptop in the cafe offered by a very kind lot in here. So will buy tea from them also and go have a shower shortly. you pay a deposit of $10 for the ke and get it refunded when ou take it back. A very busy roadhouse, have found a good place to park where the trucks won't worr me too much. Tomorrow Parkes Forbes and maybe the Dubbo Zoo. Been to the dish and zoo before Dish a bit boring to see again, but can spend a few hours at the zoo and take more photos as lost the last lot from two years ago. Have to go careful as don't get paid till next Wednesday so tring to take it slowly. I think I'm getting about 400 ks to the tank rough estimate. Will fill up here before I leave in the morning.

I think the zoo is about $45 for a full price adult. Some friends are there this weekend Marj.
Batteries are a pain aren't they, a deep cycle will be great but they are pricey.
Good to see you are powering on.

Hi all, Left a big post on the other thread entitled Last nights stop (I think) Firefly, the wide smile is only just becoming a reality. I've felt like a possum in headlights the last couple of days, a feeling of what have I done, can I do it etc. It has to be worth it and I have to really enjoy it amd make it a damn good 3 months to justify giving Punkyn up to a nice new home. Its hard and I stil wonder but the fact she was still young I'm hoping she wil l adjust ok. She was with me 5 months of her 8 months life so in her long life she probably won't even remember me, but I will always remember her.

Hey, girl, you can do it all. The hardest parts are already behind you. The pup will be ok in her new home.5 weeks ago we took on a then 4 month old pup whose owner's changed circumstances meant she did not have the time to train and devote to very affectionate and needy pup. The girl has settled in beautifully - no-one would know she hadn't always been ours. It was a tough decision for you to make, but the adjustments have been harder for you than for the dog, I am sure - which is the best way for it to be, because we can use logic to cope with the separation.
