, ok where is it,, for years i have always wanted to go to the daintree rain forest of far nth queensland, well last year i did that so it's marked as having been there, now i'm looking for a place i have created in my head and just wonder if it exists in real life..... a river or lake or seaside most likely river or lake, green hills around, a small jetty out onto said river or lake, mist rising early in the morning, an old wooden fishing boat or two bobbing up and down at anchor and another couple perhaps upside down on the shore, an old man sits on the jetty (me) fishing rod resting waiting for a bite that may never come... Think of the song "sitting on the dock of the bay" My question is where is this place apart from in my head

Narrawong Caravan Park, 20kms east of Portland, Vic. Western end of the Great Ocean Road.
Or, Lakes Entrance and some of the little villages around the waterway.
Or Daley River, NT - The Mango Farm in particular.
Or Telegraph Pool, Fitzroy River, just wst of Willare Roadhouse.
Or Walpole Inlet, southern WA.
These are the memories your description refreshed in my tiny mind.

G'day BB, mate, the place you are looking for that has all of the above, and I really do mean all that you mention, is Mallacoota, Victoria. The fish on the end of your line will most likely be flathead, caught on the prawns you caught in the lake.....well, if you go there of course It is a really beautiful little country town just off the Princess highway near the NSW border. If you have a boat you can moor it right in front of your site (if avail etc) The caravan park is run by the East Gippsland Shire..........but can be expensive in peak times. We have stayed there many times and the memories are priceless. The Genoa river flows into the lake, upper and bottom, which flows into Bass Strait. It is bounded by Croajingalong National Park. cheers, ozi2

Anyone recording these destinations? I'm going to make a list.
(A person without a list is a listless person).
We've got a lot of travelling to do folks.
