Great Effort Channel 9 and all those who volunteered their services
Do people get insurance for floods? Is at least the contents able to be insured?

I have the impression that getting insurance cover for flood can be a real real problem in areas subject to flooding where it can be either unavailable or prohibitively expensive. Sadly I think this will be the case with many of those affected.

The clause "Act of God" comes to mind, any excuse not to pay up.

What a mess in SE Qld today.
A river of water rushing through the main streets of Toowoomba..just mind boggling!
A cousin in Toowoomba said she had 6 inches in 3 hours!
It then flowed down the mountain through Murphy's Creek, catching everyone by suprise.
Wivenhoe Dam was built after the '74 floods to prevent another catastrophe, but it's looking even worse than '74.

That was a shock seeing that rush of water through Toowoomba on the news tonight. Up until then hadn't even seen a warning. Did the town get a warning beforehand or not?
Who will be next??
