hi all and i hope your all safe i was listening to abc radio last night and it came up the topic of the grey nomads and with all of the flooding going on where is every one staying. the road to rocky is closed to the north and south, so i thought it would be a chance for every one just to say where they are and where they are trying to get to after the floods regards peter and yvonne

Hopefully they all took off from the flooding areas when the first warning came out, and should be somewhere further away and safe.

I was talking to a mate this afternoon on the phone.. we had a bit of a plan to head up a bit north of Brisbane (Inskip) for the last two weeks of January. He scotched that. He's heading to Melbourne, he recons it the only place with sunshine... lol... having escaped from there 35 years ago and not been back I reckon he is heading for snow or sleet. At least if he goes there he will guarantee a bit of drying sunshine up here....

What snow and sleet? It is that damn hot and muggy here at the moment it is quite unbearable.
I am sitting here with all doors and windows open and ceiling fans going.
I'm not that far from Melbourne.

Hi Peter and Yvonne,As a newbie at the GN thing I needed an aircon fitted and Casey's RV's in Bundaberg were the only ones available to fit one before Easter in SE Qld. Went up there the weekend before so I would be in the area in case of any problems little realising the floods were coming.Got flooded in between Gin Gin and Bundaberg at a little Nature reserve at Sharon. Spent two days there till the water went down.At that time it was not too bad. Had the aircon unit fitted and decided that the southern states were a better bet and came on down to Warrnambool in Vic. Good decision in retrospect, first time in Victoria so was not prepared for Qld winter temps down here. I just feel so bad for all those people affected by the floods and the misery in the face of something you cannot stop. I met a couple in Warrnambool who lived in Gympie and had to return to an unknown state ,was their house flooded or not?.
Just glad I am not up there but my sympathies with all those flood affected. Hope you guys are OK too. Regards Trevor

Hi - I was down in Melb over Christmas/New Year - we had the usual four seasons in one hour - had some people with me who had never been there, and thhey got to experience Melbourne's unique weather patterns.

We are in the Sunshine Coast hinterland , between Noosa and Gympie . Extremely wet , raining heavily at the moment . . . . roads closed everywhere . . . . Mary river looks flooding Gympie and Maryborough .
We can get out and our property doesn't flood , but no sense in driving out the gate when there's nowhere to go .
