We camped for 10 days, early December at Wuruma Dam inland from Bundaberg QLD. The purpose of the trip was to bag a fresh water Barra. Well I beat the water to foam with Bomber A's and soft plastics to no avail. A fairly local bloke, who knew the dam well arrived and as we chatted he said "if I get a Barra would you like one?"... "wouldnt say no replies I", he fishes for two days and catches 11, unfortunately all under size. The third day he drives past pulling his boat and gives the "GOT 1" sign. He plonks down a 82 cm Barra. I said "I'll clean it and just take a bit" He said "Nah you keep it I get plenty". I cleaned it and shared it with the couple behind us who were fishing like us but not catching. There are some good Blokes and Sheilahs out there... Oh yeah and it cooked up very well...

Old fishermen never die- They only smell that way! Also, we are allowed to lie as we are fishermen!( this applies double if you are a women)

when we were at jindabyne a couple years ago a fellow camper shared his catch with us. he would read the conditions every day and decide whether to fish or not. he always caught something. Another camper went fishing allday every day and did not catch a thing.
