My mum used to make ice cream with tinned milk. Does anyone have a recipie? It was the best tasting ice cream around.

Did you see on Tv the other night, can't remember what program now. The cook/chef said melt peanut butter and honey and swirl it through ice cream, she said it is really nice.

This one is from Best Recipes.[Google it]
Easy Ice-cream. Makes 2 1/4 Litres.
Ing: 750 ml Evaporated Milk
390 g Condensed Milk
1 teapoon Vanilla
Method: Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and place in the freezer.
When partially frozen, remove and beat mixture until it doubles in size.
Place back in freezer until frozen.

This is one I've made for years. Used to make it when I lived up the Cape. [ No shops handy, so I only had Tinned and Powdered milk in stock.] Ice Cream. No 1. [CWA Book] Makes 2 ltrs.
Ing: 1/2 tin Condensed Milk [3/4 cup, or 200gr.] 500gr [1 pint ] fresh Milk [or 2 Cups Water, & 1/2 cup Powdered Milk. ]
4 Tab'spns Powdered Milk 2 level T'spns Gelatine
1 t'spn Vanilla
Method: Soak Gelatine in 1/4 cup hot Water. Warm Milk, add other ingreds. and beat. Freeze till starting to set. Re-beat, then freeze again.

Low-cal icecream. Serves 4.
Ingred: 1 t'spn Gelatine dissolved in 2 tab'spns hot Water.
1 cup Skim Milk Powder.
1 cup cold Water.
1 t'spn Vanilla.
2 crushed Sweetener Tablets.
1 Egg White.
Method: Combine all ingredients except Egg White in bowl, and beat together.
Beat Egg White seperately until stiff ---- fold lightlyinto basic mixture.
Pour into refrigerator tray and freeze till firm.

Dont suppose anybody has made Soy icecream? There is a So-good brand one, which is quite nice, but expensive.
