Looks pretty diabolical in Carnarvon (nw WA), where they have been cut off by road for a few days now. Heard an interview with the local supermarket guy this morning and he said they had pretty well run out of fresh things such as milk. In the pics on the news reports there is a motor home ploughing through half a metre or so of water in the main street, hope it isn't any members of this forum.

Yes one hopes not. It has been a very wet end to the drought. More rain coming here in QLD also. Have not really had a hot day yet....

Just been out to Moogerah Dam - Boonah, Qld - water gushing out of the spillway - first time in 19 years. Pouring rain, and the place is packed with sightseers - Should be a good summer season (if it ever stops raining) - though the caravan park has lost some of its unpowered spots to the dam - but still plenty of room. Teviot Brook is pretty high as well, and all the little chanels and creeks are flowing pretty wide.
Flying down to Melbourne on Thursday, can't wait to see Victoria - wet and green - been a long time brown and dry.

It's wet all round methinks, went for a drive out to Lake Awoonga this arvo, heaps of big barra going over the dam wall but sadly a lot are getting smashed at the bottom. A good friend went for a run up the Boyne River today and counted over 100 dead barra floating down the river, many around 1.2 metres, some he thought were bigger, just hoping a few made it

Yes Nocholstones, very wet in Carnarvon. In fact they have just had their annual rainfall in 48 hrs! Looks like the worst flooding since 1961! Road is closed from the Overland Roadhouse at the Shark Bay turn off right through to the Minillya - Exmouth road! Fully laden food trucks are stuck in Carnarvon! Many caravan parks there have been evacuated. Gascoyne Junction to the east is flooded also with some residents on foof tops this morning waiting for helecopter rescues!
