That was interesting reading. I see the Cunningham Gap is closed to all traffic.

Cunninghams Gap is closed due to landslide - I was told this morning there had been 19 up to date - I work at the bottom in Aratula and we have all been stood down, as no traffic, no customers. There are other ways to go, depending where you want to end up - from Warwick to Toowoomba, or Warwick to Boonah or Rathdowney via Killarney and the Head Road. Or you can go down through Kyogle from Beaudesert - it is raining whichever way you go - not as much today. Lake Moogerah near Boonah overflowed over the wall last night - it has gone up at least 18% in the last week or so, about 5 years ago, was a puddle in the middle!!!! Take care if you are driving - drive to the conditions, or sit tight and wait it out if you can. jules

That is a beautiful spot through Aratula, Boonah, and Beaudesert, Have gone that way a few times in the past and have it on my list when I get my campervan to spend some more time in that area.
It has always stuck in my memory to go back and enjoy for longer than a quick trip through.

I live in Boonah - our showground has a really good campground - at the moment there are about 30 huge motorhomes in - it is walking distance to the shops and pubs, and most weekends there is some sort of horse event for entertainment - I usually work at the tourist info centre on Sundays - so get to know what is going on all over the area.

Are there showers and powered sites at Boohah showgrounds, and what are the costs. I will be through in Feb.

Very clean showers and toilets at Boonah (Qld.) and 2 minutes walk to centre of town, good fishing at Maroon dam about 1/2 hours drive, but you need a boat and impoundment fishing licence

There's good fishing at Lake Moogerah - 12k from Boonah - overflowing at the moment - ditto re licence and boat - enter via Moogerah Road off Fassifern Road, about 2 k off Cunningham Highway. (Licences available from BP in Boonah just near the roundabout)
