Hi All, well, this is our second full day at Bjelke Peterson Dam and took 'The Tub' out for a bit of fishing this morning - and, yep, moi, caught a yellowbelly around 40cm, then I caught a tree!! However, 'im, who shall remain nameless, just caught a tree!!! First time out for the tinny , and first time fishing for me - am I clever or what???? Might just have to have another go tomorrow.

You are at least one up on me ... last time I was there, there was no water in the BJP dam!
As to the fishing, I think that it is best to retire when you are ahead.
Any Red Claw there?

theres barra in there isnt there, now theres a fun fish to catch. Only ever caught 2, one at 800mm and the next at 1070mm. Only been fishing for barra 4 times so happy about that.
Now back to your catch pejay, not a fisherman until you have fought and lost at least 20 trees, put a hook of some sort through your ear (mine was a fly when fly fishing). Did ya eat the yellow belly, was told they taste very muddy
cheers

Ok, the dam is now at 87% full - looking good, and so green around the area, saw a 'roo and a pride (?) of foxes as we went and checked out the bait nets. I understand that they got rid of all the redclaw in BP Dam, but Boondoomba has redclaw and it is @ 100% capacity. Have to add, Peter went out again this morning - no good, but he enjoyed his time out on the lake and can't wait for the next 40 days (whose counting?) to go by and we can get to do this more often.

Or to the local nursery when you run out of trees. You caught the "chips" to have with the fish?

Finally have the piccy to prove that I did catch the said fish - not just a tree!
Oh June I do apologise - didnt read the original post too well (red induced haze) - I thought PEJAY caught the yellowbelly, nice fish, one can only hope he is licking his wounds and listening to something like,,,,,, "well Pejay, if you want to catch fish, what you have to do is..... etc etc etc repeat as needed, (constantly), lol

Not Happy June!!! Went out again this morning, 'I' caught a beaut bass, then hauled in a yellow belly, and 'im who shall remain nameless, was taking the hook out etc - AND DROPPED IT OVERBOARD!!!!!! However, 'imself, in turn pulled in another yellowbelly that was bigger - so I am reasonably happy!!!
He was to say the least as happy as a chap out fishing can be - just 39 days to go!!! and we too will be doing this all the time.
