Great camping spot at Kin Kin . A top little town about 17 kms off the Bruce hwy , between Gympie and Cooroy . Turn off the hwy at Pomona . Camping on the oval behind the Kin Kin pub . Toilets , showers , some shade , plenty of room , dogs OK . $5 pp , pn . Enquire at the pub . Great meals at the pub too . Also a small store with a few provisions . No fuel in town though . Nearest fuel at Pomona . If you are in the Gympie , Tin Can Bay , Noosa areas , Kin Kin is a good place to spend a night or two . If you are into rain forest and huge trees , there is a place about 10 kms out of Kin Kin called the Doggrell Trail . Some of the biggest trees in the country there . A little hard to find , but ask at the pub . Someone will know how to get there .

Excellent, thanks (and welcome) sandsmere... Before all the southerners ask the question, I will add that KinKin, Cooroy, Gympie and Pomona are all in Queensland, and the "highway" you refer to is The Bruce.
Is there a name for this hidden delight, is it in Camps 5?

Yay, I knew that one. Spent a week in Gympie last year as nice and close to Eumundi Market and Maleny.
Will have my campervan to try the camping spot next year.
