It a good idea to put a tag with phone number on sets of key when travelling or even at home so if you do lose then the finder can call you and you can be reunited with your keys .....

Make sure its your mobile number, as its possible to trace addresses through land-line phone numbers, then the keys can be used to enter your home!

I'm a member of Security Sentinel and have stickers on my key ring and all sorts of stuff as well as mobile phone.
You pay a small fee per year and they give you a number, and they handle the queries about lost and found.
I believe it's a great service, and until now, I haven't had to use it.
Check out the website and see if you could use the service.

Sounds like a good idea Chris, especially for those living full time in their vans. I locked my keys in my campervan at Uluru once, but luckily had a spare set wired to the chassis underneath, so was able to get in. Some put a spare caravan key there as well, just in case.
Ummmmmm.........slightly off topic, but I was at Balladonia about 6 months ago and left my credit card on the counter........they arranged for a good samitaran truckie to deliver it to me at Caiguna to save me travelling all the way back again (about a 320kms return trip). But we won't talk about that, lol !!
