Hi everyone, my name is "Mini". I and my hubby have a old dog and a cat. I am going back to Japan for a month in October, fly from Cairns, my hubby stays in Carins or around somewhere with pets until I come back. Does anyone know good caravan park which is recomended?
We have looked on the internet and seen "Coolwaters Holiday Park" and "Lake Placid Tourist Park" but we thought thet are a bit expensive. We don't mind a little bit away from Cairns, just we need that my hubby can drop me off and pick me up at airport, and under $30/night.
Please give us an advise, thank you.

There are a couple in Pease Street which is close to the airport but I contacted them and NO PETS.
Also even in October the parks are quite expensive in and around Cairns.
It is a bit of a drive but a couple of the parks around Mareeba are ok with pets. I know the Walkamin Park is ok and only $17 a night. About one hour from the airport though.
I tried to attach the page out of the yellow pages for Cairns but it was too big for this comment page.

Checkout these sites
http://www.caravanparkphotos.com.au/index.htm
http://www.goseeaustralia.com.au/
In the photos site, click on Australian caravan parks, it lists all the towns, click on Cairns, it lists all the C/P's. Click on each until you find a pet friendly one.
Go see australia. Left hand side menu, click on caravan parks, and go from there.
Two great sites. Use them often. Also use Badgers site too.

Hope this helps

Going on Gary Stratton's site the following are the pet friendly parks around Cairns
There is a good site produced by Gary at http://garystratton.com/ - It is a little bit difficult to use but his interactive maps are very good to use once you have got the hang of it.
