special thanks to pejay and jimricho - we took the route that pejay planned and jimricho endorsed with the map took a slightly wrong turn from dysart to capella and went about 40ks on dirt - but good dirt no problems there were lovely views of the peak range national park. stopped that night at the springsure showgrounds - some sort of "do" on at the footy club duff duff music and loud raucas voices all night till 0500. never staying there again on a saturday night $17 per night unpowered but no one collected (they could have been at the "do" lol. stopped to make sangers at dawson river - lovely site and free, even has hot showers ($1) and a boat launch, firewood delivered free. almost unlimited stay too if you behave. town with facilites just down the road. last stay was ceratodus rest stop on upper burnett. another lovely free stay and very quiet although on the highway. again thanks one and all. pete

G'day Pete,
Glad we could be of service to you, and all went well. Have you not heard that you never get lost or take a wrong turn - you just take the scenic route!!! And it sounds like it just might have been that for you guys.
Cheers and safe travelling
Pejay

That's ok Pete, I'll send you an invoice for my grossly overpriced consultancy fee, including Pejay's suggestion which in the tradition of any consultant I will claim as my own!!!!
