Hi Just wondering if anyone has been to the Lake Eyre region recently. We're thinking of going over from Perth to check it out while there's so much water about. Any advice re camping grounds/sight seeing flights/what else to see/current weather conditions would be greatly appreciated.

It' actually being hosted by the Lake Eyre Yacht Club but it is being held on Lake Killamperpunna, Cooper Creek. Go to this site and click on the Regatta Information link.
I refer to this link to keep an eye on the Lake Eyre conditions.

Hi There , Did a 1hr flight from William Ck with Wright's Air who also fly from Maree. At $230 for the hr felt it was good value.Water as far as the horizon and birdlife was amazing. Dinner at William Ck pub was great and loved the caravan park at $10 for unpowered site with copius hot water in showers. Cheers, Mary

Mary, Glad your William Creek shower was hot. Everybody else in our group scored hot showers. Lucky me scored a cold one. Didn't bother the next day. But park was good and we had a good communal camp fire finishing off with pancakes, strawberries and cream.
